Such a Bad Friend...

Wow. That is all I have to say is WOW. I feel like a horrible friend to all of you. I just really haven't been able to figure out what I want to say for a while. I am a told idiot sometimes. Well let's just say things for me haven't really been busy and life has been slow, so I have no excuses in not writing. I guess the only news I have is that I have been mulling over this character that I have created and trying to make a story to go with him. Wow, even telling you that and I can't give you any real drawings yet or an idea about what my story is going to be about. T.T I am a horrible person. I hope that the next time I post I will have something about my new character and some drawings for you. This is totally awesome art blog. (See the sarcasm.) If anyone has any suggestions or any ideas for something creative to do let me know. I am totally missing my muse and have to go hunting for it so I can get back into my grove. With that I leave you all to your lives. Hopefully next time we meet something interesting is going to be shared.

Question of the day:

When life gives you lemons what would you do with them? (See my answer next time peeps!)

P.S. HAPPY 4TH OF JULY my peeps. Enjoy the cook outs and fireworks! Hope your weather isn't as bipolar as the weather I am having. :3

Up coming posts

So I had this eureka moment just now. So right now I am living with my friend and I am currently looking for a job for some money. However, the thought just came to me, "Suzanna, you are an artist right? You draw and post on a blog right? Why not ask your readers if they want some of your work and commissions?"
So in the next few posts I am going to be building more of a portfolio and setting up rules and guide lines for what people want. So keep in tune and tell your friends, family, coworkers and the world about me. Hopefully everything turns out for the best for everyone.
Until next time, wish me luck in all of my adventure that are going on and everyone enjoy your summer.

Just Another Post

So I guess I lied. I don't have any more work to show you. The only other things that I have is my hand drawn stuff and my camera is crap in taking good quality pictures and my scanner is too small for most of them. I guess I have to come up with some themes for what to talk about. Any suggestion are welcome. I'll come up with some things and post them tomorrow. Honestly, I have no idea what I am going to be writing about. So be warned that things are going to sound a little bit confused and rambled. Until next time, have fun and enjoy your friends and family.

Part 2 of College Art Work

SO HOT!!!!! Today it is 97 degrees in Southern Vermont. Not cool man, not cool. I am melting and not enjoying this day at all. I hope everyone else is having a better day than I am.

Enough with my complaining and whining about the heat. Today is another day for ART POSTS!!! WHHHHOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOO!!!! Well I am excited I am not sure about you guys though. I thought I had some of my animations with me, but it turns out I completely forgot to dump them on to my thumb-drive before leaving school. Which is a complete bummer because I thought I could show you all how I progressed from being EXTREMELY horrible at frame-by-frame traditional animation to an adequate level. Well maybe I can get a hold of the copy of all my work that my Professor has next semester. Here is some more of my work.

"Duck Attack" Sketch scanned, manipulated with PhotoShop CS6
This piece was for my Digital Arts class. We had to take a hand draw element and add it with a computer made element. The background is a picture that I take at my old house. I heavily manipulated the photo to give it the creepy feeling. The duck was a quick sketch that I scanned in and colored in in PhotoShop.

"Untitled" Photo manipulated with PhotoShop CS5.5
This piece is also for my Digital Arts class. This photo is of my back yard of my current home. This photo is heavily manipulated.

"Night Castle" manipulated in PhotoShop CS6
This piece was also for my Digital Arts class. This was our first assignment just trying to show the Professor what we can  do with some photos and PhotoShop. Within this piece there are four different photos that I have cropped, multiplied, and manipulated to create this piece. All of the photos are from my own shock.

So that is it for this post. Tomorrow I am going to be picking up my friend who is going to be staying with me and my family for ten days, so I am not sure when I am going to be posting. However, the last past is going to be up tomorrow some time. I have nothing more to say today. Wow, I am really drawing a blank. Sorry. Until next time, keep hydrated and cool, but enjoy the sun! Remember take pictures of your summer fun!

Part 1 of College Art Work

So before I even start with this post about my art work I have something to tell everyone! You all know that in school you don't really see too much TV or know what new channels there are unless you are home or at someone's house. Today I was REALLY bored and decided to channel surf and came across this gem, Ovation. It is a network all about the arts and bringing them to the people. Today I watched some documentaries about Baroque art and one about Manet. I was soooo thrilled! You have to check it out! Here is a link to their website http://www.ovationtv.com/.

Alright back to the show. The real reason for this post was to show what I have been working on throughout this year/semester.

"Wax Dragon" Created in PhotoShop CS6
This piece was for my Illustration class. We had to mix two words together and create something out of them and I chose wax and dragon. Personally, I want to push it a little more before I put it in my final portfolio, but I think it turned out pretty good.

"Self" Created in PhotoShop CS6
This piece was for my Digital Arts class. We had to make self portraits and I hate having my picture taken, so I drew myself. I added other drawings that I have done to show that I have different styles.

"Alice Falling" Created in PhotoShop CS5.5
This piece was for my Digital Arts class. This was the free project that we could do whatever we wanted to do. So I took the classic "Alice and Wonderland" and flipped it upside down. I feel like that this piece is the most representational of my style and what I can do than all of my other pieces and I am very proud of it.

So this is it for this round. Next time I am thinking that there is going to be more or maybe some of my animations that I managed to get off the sever before leaving school. We shall see tomorrow, won't we? Until next time, enjoy the sunshine and the blue skies! Oh and take pictures of your summer fun because you never know what memories you are going to capture.

It Has Been a While....

I am a horrible person. So I thought I was going to be blogging at least once a day since I started. Well you all see how well that turned out. -_- Please bare with me while I try and scramble together  my art work that I have made over the semester and show you all. Sorry again for abandoning everything, but life got the better of me. So I think it is time for NEW GOALS!!!!

Goals:
1) Blog everyday. I NEED ROUTINE!
2) Move up to friend's house and find job. The life of the adult.
3) Start apartment hunting. Need to start living the life.
4) MAKE ART!!!!

These goals sound easy enough, right? Ha, I am soo failing...... BE POSITIVE!!!! I can do this, hopefully. So most of the goals are about me moving up to my friend's house and starting the oh-so-awesome job hunting. What would be really great is if I could work in like some gallery or at some day care and do crafts with the kids. Jobs, why are there so few of them.

Anyway, tomorrow I am going to post some of my work. I am thinking it is going to take three posts to get everything in and to say what I need to say. So keep an eye out for them. Hopefully this summer goes smoothly for me as well as everyone else out there. Until next time, enjoy life and never give up.

A Little Introduction

Like I promised last post I was going to tell you a little about my self. So here goes nothing.
Hi, my name is Suzanna and I am an amateur illustrator and animator. I am currently going to school to earn my BFA for Animation/Illustration. (I know some of you have read this before, but it is just to stick it in.) I know that my skills are not very good yet, but I hope that you and me will see major improvement over time. I hope that this will lead to creative thinking and discussing with other creative people. I am also hoping that this leads to me getting a fan base where people like my art so much they want to buy some. That would be amazing!
So more about me, I am a pretty easy going person. I have been known to care too much about the people around me. But then again it takes a lot for me to actually trust someone, so I guess the person that I care for really deserves it.
Back to the art world, I would have to say that my least favorite type of art is that of abstract expressionism and cubism and all that mumbo-jumbo. It just gives me a headache just thinking about it. If you want to debate this topic with me then feel free to leave a comment. If you don't know what any of those art forms are click the links below. *shiver*
On the other hand one of my favorite time for art was the renaissance. I just loved the realism and how the way the colors looked. Not to mention some of the brilliant sculptures. If you want to debate this topic with me then feel free to leave a comment. If you don't know what any of those art forms are click the links below.
My style I would say is still in the works. As of right now I would have to say it is a mix of the anime style with realism sometimes and comic book with a hint of Gothic flare. Yeah I am still working on it. I am hoping to do some scanning tomorrow so the next post will have some of my work. Please be kind with the critics. I am still learning. Until next time.

Hello

Hi! I am a new illustrator on the scene and still going to school for my B.F.A in Animation/Illustration. I am hoping to spread my wings and get an audience through my blog and through my other social media sites. I hope that we all can be great friends and you all enjoy my work.
This post is not going to be very informative or exciting, so don't get your hopes up. I am planing to do a lot this semester for branding myself and getting my work out there in the world. So I am hoping to start a vlog on YouTube soon and continue posting here with scans of my work. I will set up links so everything once they are up and running. My next post will be more information about me and goals and such. I haven't figured out if I am going to post every day, once a week, every other day or whatever. So stand by until things become regular.
Thank you very much and I hope that things are going to turn out great.

Until next time, see ya.
